A tasty bird that will impress everyone at Thanksgiving! Submitted by: JasonPrep Time: 25 Minutes Cook Time: 40 Minutes |
THAWED Turkey (Frozen turkeys are unsafe to use in a fryer. Turkeys in the 11-13 lb. range work best.)
Peanut oil for frying
1/3 cup olive oil
2 Tbsp McCormick Grillmates (Check to make sure this is still gluten free. Formulas change regularly. Gluten should be clearly labeled on ingredient list.)
1. Heat peanut oil as recommended in fryer instructions. Always be extremely careful, as hot oil is extremely dangerous.
2. Rinse THAWED turkey inside and out.
3. Blend together Grillmates and olive oil in a blender. Draw the solution into injector needle and inject into different parts of the meat. Make sure not to put too much in one area as this will make a pocket of seasoning in the bird.
4. Sprinkle a little extra Grillmates on the outside of the bird.
5. Slowly lower the THAWED turkey into the oil, being VERY careful.
6. Turkeys in the 11-13lb. range work best. The turkey should take about 3 minutes per pound.
