Gluten free recipe for:

Grandma Sherri’s Caramels

These melt-in-your-mouth caramels will be a great addition to your gluten free Christmas baking platter.

Submitted by: Grandma Sherri
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 1 Hour

Ingredients: 2 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup milk
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup butter
1 1/2 Tbsp GF vanilla

1.  Put all ingredients except vanilla into medium pan.
2.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until soft ball stage (234 degrees).
3.  Add vanilla and stir well.
4.  Pour into buttered 8x8 pan and chill.
5.  Cut caramels into small squares and wrap in wax paper.  I found the easiest way to do this was to remove 1/4 of the pan of caramels and place on a greased, glass cutting board and cut with a greased knife instead of trying to cut them in the pan and remove them individually.

With gluten free cooking, we advise you to take every effort to ensure that all your ingredients are gluten free.
